Halloween/holidays

didn't know exactly which subject area to put this under, but i was curious about what you guys do around this time for holidays, particularly halloween.

my view on halloween in particular has always been as this pagan, demonic celebration.

even now that i discovered ttatt i still feel the same way i do about halloween, i don't ever think it's something i'd celebrate.

My view on Halloween in particular has always been as this pagan, demonic celebration. Even now that I discovered TTATT I still feel the same way I do about Halloween, I don't ever think it's something I'd celebrate. If any of you have raised children outside of the Org, what do you tell them if they desire to celebrate holidays or even birthdays?

to me, the jw definition of the overlapping generation teaching is that the lives of the anointed from 1914 overlap with the lives of the anointed right now.

david splane used the example of fred franz and how he finished his "earthly course" in 1992 but while he did, he had a lot of "contemporaries" that outlived him and are currently living today.

JW Rumor: End of the Traveling Overseer

a friend of mine has contacts to a family with several circuit overseers and special pioneers.

they have good connections to bethel.. he told me that the latest rumor from bethel states that the cos should be abolished in their present form.

they have also recently begun to take cos back to bethel.. over the same channel i have already heard of the car fleet program and that the dos should be abolished.. has anyone else already heard of it?

crucially, they double-down on this lame bet by adding that their worldwide preaching proves another wtbts teaching, namely, that we are living in "the last days.

What do you think is the future of this? They can't keep this teaching. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Splane said something about how the generation could go as long to the point where it's possible that Witnesses can read about the current GB in a future updated version of the Proclaimers book, but basically implying that it can carry on for another 30 years until it has to be revised again.

That's so weird, because every Witness I know swallows it up and believes it firmly. I know there isn't anything in the scriptures to imply that there is an overlap of some sort but more than the Org trying to look for secondary fulfillment on something that was fulfilled already.

To me, the JW definition of the overlapping generation teaching is that the lives of the anointed from 1914 overlap with the lives of the anointed right now. David Splane used the example of Fred Franz and how he finished his "earthly course" in 1992 but while he did, he had a lot of "contemporaries" that outlived him and are currently living today. Makes sense right? I've always thought that JWs could always make something that doesn't make sense sound logically and perfectly sound. And this is one of those teachings for me. In the past I've tried to reason with some that in that scripture in Matthew where Jesus is talking about the generation, he's talking about the generation that would live to see the signs before the second destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. Then they'll respond that Jesus wasn't referring to that generation. Can someone sort this out? Why doesn't this teaching make sense? A bit confused here.

Waking up to TTATT: Blessing or Curse?

if you take the red pill, you'll have knowledge, you'll be awakened, aware of reality, you'll have freedom.. if you take the blue pill, you stay in your bubble, wearing rose colored glasses, and feel security in an illusion.. taking the red pill isn't something that's easy to do.

to accept that everything around you is an illusion built up on lies or half truths.

but hey, it might feel good to be aware and break free from this illusion.
